Cast and Crew:

Michael Xavier (Director)- this is Mike's fourth PCT show, having recently played Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors and the male lead in Plaza Suite. Favorite roles include Jack in Into the Woods, Feste in Twelve Night, and Sammy in Blood Brothers. Offstage, Mike is employed as an Assistant District Attorney in Bristol County. Mike received most of his theatrical training at the College of the Holy Cross theater and music department. This is his first time directing for Portsmouth Community Theater. Mike would like to thank Kelly Chasse for her artful and patient assistance.

Lori McDowell (Musical Director)- This is Lori’s first production with PCT. She has been performed and played in South Pacific, West Side Story, Anything Goes, Fiddler on the Roof, The Odd Couple (Female Version), and as Musical Director of 1940s Radio Show. Lori performs with the Newport Navy Choristers and Nautical Notes madrigal and serves as the Stage Manager & Board Member for the group. Lori is the Choir Director of Middletown Baptist Church. She is currently in the U.S. Navy

Kelly-Lynn Chasse (Production Manager) and Alexander Zachoria (Stage Manager)

Jason Read (Jesus)- this show is Jason's last before going to Syracuse University as a Technical Theater major to (hopefully) one day become a Broadway Lighting Designer. Last summer he had his directorial debut with PCT's Little Shop of Horrors. Favorite past roles include Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver in Oliver, and Jim in Gifts of the Magi. He attributes his interest in theater to the late, great Angus Bailey who he studied with at UMass Dartmouth. "J" would like to thank Josh, Kelly, and his parents for helping him be where he is today.

Kevin Killavey (John the Baptist/ Judas)- has been with PCT since it's conception. He was in Cheaper by the Dozen, Going on a Cruise, and played the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors last summer. Kevin is a student at Bristol Community College where he majors in theater.

Tim Cassese- is currently a freshmen at Portsmouth High School. He has been acting since 5th grade, and singing since the 3rd grade. Tim has played Rooster in Annie Jr., Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Charboneau in The Adventures of Lewis & Clark. His other activities include All-State Chorus and Lacrosse. He aspires to become an actor on Broadway.

Leanne Chace- is a sophmore at Salve Regina University, and come from Woodstock, Connecticut. At SRU she is involved in University Chorus, Madrigals, and Vocal Jazz. Some of her most memorable roles include Heidi in The Heidi Chronicles, Mary in Babes in Toyland, General Cartwright in Guys & Dolls, and her favorite role was as a Do-Wop girl in "Dentist" (Kids on Broadway '99).

Alissa Cordeiro- recently completed her first year at Rhode Island College, where she is a Musical Theatre major. Before joining this production, Ali was in the RIC Theatre Department's production of Evita, where she was in the ensemble and also played a member of the aristocracy (which of course was fun). Favorite roles include Joy (stepsister) in Cinderella, Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town, and Chairy Barnum in Barnum. Ali would like to thank her always supportive family and friends, and would like to extend a special thank you to her voice instructor, Flo St. Jean, for giving her confidence (and a range) she never knew she had.

Trish Culver- is a nurse in the Navy to stay busy between film and theater gigs. She enjoys singing in Newport Navy Choristers. Trish recently was elected the Secretary of PCT. She been invlolved with many PCT shows, include a part in Plaza Suite last fall.

Roger Fournier- This is Rogers third show with PCT being last seen in Little Shop and Forgotten Broadway. Roger performs all throughout SE Mass and RI and was last seen in Carousel for the Little Theater of Fall River. Roger can also be seen later this summer starring as the Wizard in The Wizard of Oz for the star players of Taunton. Thanks to Mike and Kelly for giving him the opportunity to work with such a great comapny and cast.

Coral Fortado- lives in Tiverton, Rhode Island. She has played Rizzo in Grease, Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, and has appeared in many other plays at her high school. Coral takes voice, studying under Mrs. Christine Johnson and gets pointers from her drama instructor, Judy Farely. In college she plans on studying musical theater.

Jamie Jamison - comes to us from Coronado, California. She appeared in various productions throughout High School and College but put acting on hold to produce her three finest works; her children James, Joy and John. Jamie is married to LtCol Jim Jamison, USMC, who attends the Naval War College and is her biggest fan! They and their family live in Newport.

Joy Jamison - attends 5th grade at The Cluny School in Newport. She plays soccer for the Middletown Youth Soccer League and for her school. Joy played a villager in Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. and most recently was in Sleepy-Head at Cluny. She takes piano lessons, loves to sing, play sports, but most of all she loves her Mom and Dad and brothers, James and John.

Desireah Lopes- is currently going into her freshmen year at Northeastern University in Boston where she will be studying U.S. History and getting teacher certification in the subject. Her past roles include Marly Howe in Making Nice, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Buddha in God & Poker. She has participated in Portsmouth High School chorus, vocal ensemble, and drama club.

Ron Marsh- dedicates the performance to Bates College professor, the late Lavinia Schaeffer: "I never listened, Miss Schaeffer. But look at me now!" Ron has been a chiropractor in Portsmouth since 1983 and enjoys photography, birding and classical music. Catch him Fridays at noontime over non-commercial WRIU, 90.3 FM.

Ellen Davis Morris- has been active in local theater since 1994. She has been in varies productions at Newport Playhouse, The Gallery Theater, the newly formed Moikenzloird Theater, and Newport Repertory where she sits on the board. She loves music, theater, and is extremely excited to be included in PCT's cast of Godspell.

Debra Vierra Murphy- grew up on Aquidneck Island (Newport and Middletown) and is a lawyer who runs her own practice. Most recently she was in Jamestown Community Theater's production of The Miracle Worker in which she played Evelyn Keller. She has also appeared in numerous Newport Player's Guild, Lyric Theater Co., and college plays as well as several parts in movies.

Bailey Payer- is going to be a junior at Bishop Stang High School. Her past roles include chorus member in Godspell, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors, and Willy in The Gifts of the Magi. She takes voice lessons with Arlene Cyr and acting lessons at All Children's Theater. Bailey thanks her Mom & Dad for being her taxi and Mike for giving her the chance to be part of this womderful show. You guys rock!

Emily Pederson- is a 6th grader at Portsmouth Middle School. Past roles include Piglet in Winnie the Pooh, Jackie in The Great Cross Country Race, and Chee Chee the Monkey in Dr. Dolittle. She participated in almost every Newport Children's Theater play since age 9. Emily loves acting, reading, and singing and she is excited to be taking part in this production.

Lisa Rigazio- is a 17-year-old junior at Portsmouth High School. Since she was five, Lisa has appeared in over 40 plays with Newport Children's Theater and Repertory Company and the Newport Theater Festival. Some of her featured roles were Kate in Taming of the Shrew, Dorothy in Wizard of Oz, and the Sorceress in Once Upon a Mattress. She is out-of-her-mind excited to be in a show in her own hometown.

Laura Young- is going into her junior year at Portsmouth High School. Her past roles include Winnifred in Once Upon a Mattress, and Ronette in Little Shop of Horrors. She studies voice with Kate Grana and has participated in RIMEA All-State Choral Festival for the past two years. This summer she will attend the musical theater workshop at Westminster Choral College. Laura sends her thanks to Mike & Kelly.
